Description
This Garnacha is elegant & complex, with a vivid color, & an aromatic intensity that includes a wide variety of fruit red fruits, plums, & peaches are most prominent. The nose follows through to the palate, which is redolent of fresh fruit. Soft, with a characteristic acidity, & a long and fruity aftertaste.Winemaker’s Notes The grapes come from an average age of 25-year-old vines from selected vineyards in several locations across the Ebro river valley, in North-East Spain. The soils are clay and limestoneideal for growing grapes. The climate is continental, with cold winters and hot and dry summers. During the summer, there is great contrast between the day and night temperatures, which help the grapes reach optimum ripeness. The grapes are hand-picked and sorted. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks for 12 days with daily pump-over in order to achieve the best color, aroma and tannin extraction. Malolactic fermentation takes place in the stainless steel and is followed by light fining and filtration just prior to bottling, in an effort to preserve as much of the wines fine fruit aromas as possible. It remains 2-3 months in the bottle before its launching.Serving Hints This wine is ideally served at room temperature to accompany grilled and roasted red meats, cold meats, ham, chorizo, etc. Also ideal for pizza, medium-cured cheeses, grilled red peppers, or even as an aperitif. – Real Compania de Vinos
