Description
Like Sancerre, which lies across the Loire River, the grape here is Sauvignon Blanc. In fact, fume is a local nickname for the Sauvignon varietal; translating loosely to smoky. There is indeed a uniquely flinty gun-smoke character wrapped around the core of white grapefruit, grassy tones, and lemon oil tones of good Sauvignon.
