With family origins in both Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé, Cedrick Bardin produces fine examples of Sauvignon Blanc from both appellations. He is based in Pouilly-sur-Loire, and has for many years been making award-winning, terroir driven wines from the Loire Valley. Working with different soil types (clay and marl in Sancerre; and flint in Pouilly-Fumé) he creates two very different wines but both are consistently excellent, aromatic examples with fine minerality. These wines pair excellently with food, but can easily be enjoyed on their own. Domaine Cédrick BARDIN spreads over 13 hectares (31.33 acres) of vines on both banks of the Loire River, within the towns of Pouilly sur Loire, Saint-Satur and Bannon, in the Cher area. The high quality and unique taste of the Sancerre produced by Cédrick BARDIN mainly comes from this flint terroir which gives distinctive mineral notes to the Sauvignon, a sustainable approach to the culture of the vines, and a combination of four generations of winegrowers’ know-how as well as rational use of modern technologies and equipments. Typical expression of Sauvignon Blanc. This Sancerre comes from a flinty terroir, characterised by its minerality, freshness and finesse. Can be appreciated as an aperitif, with goats cheese or grilled fish. Best drunk in the 5 years after vintage. |
