Description
Tasting Notes Bright straw in color with a slight haze, this wine is characterized by fresh fruit, mineral texture, and barrel complexity. Battonage and sur lees aging result in a texture that resonates through the palate with nice tension and length. Aromas and flavors of apricot, honeysuckle, sweet peaches, brioche, roasted hazelnut, fresh cream and vanilla are very prominent. On the finish there are mineral notes of chalk, flinty wet stone and orange muscat. An extremely elegant and balanced wine.Winegrowing Notes The fruit is sourced primarily from our estate vineyard, Bobs Ranch, located in both the Russian River and Sonoma Coast AVA. The combined characteristics of these appellations, including cool morning fog and light sandy cotati and goldridge soils, give depth and uniqueness to the resulting blend.Vintage Notes The 2014 growing season started early and moderate temperatures allowed the fruit to stay on the vine for an extended period. This hang time allowed the fruit to come in with optimum balance of tannin and ripeness. The vintage will exhibit intense aromatics, an amazing depth of color, fine tannins, and ripe flavorful wines. – Walt
