Our 2016 Texas Tempranillo is a blend of 4 different outstanding Tempranillo vineyards from both the High Plains of Texas as well as Texas Hill Country. The vineyards of the High Plains offer a concentrated fruit forward style while the the Hill Country vineyards offer an underpinning of deeply intense tannin with notes of pepper and herbs.The style of this wine is a balanced offering of fruit and tannin, allowing for complete varietal expression. Layers of developed fruit come forward with a deep floral nose. Dark rich notes of earth and tobacco dominate the nose when first opened. These notes develop into mild cooking spice and red fruits within a few minutes of breathing.The 2016 Tempranillo has plenty of lift in the body to carry the flavors of dried cherries, herbs and spice. Giving way to notes of black pepper, coffee and toasted oak just around the edge. What unfolds from there is an intriguing and sublime note of red fruit and herbs on the finish. This wine will lay down for an easy 5 years or drink now if that perfect meal is beckoning.Tasting Notes ON THE NOSE Bright red fruit, mild tobacco, herbs .
