Description
”The Zinfandel, Malbec, Tempranillo, and Nebbiolo grapes that comprise this blend are from the Texas Hill Country and Texas High Plains. These grapes were allowed to hang on the vine longer to develop a more mature flavor profile suitable to the making of Port style wines. We aged them separately, then blended and fortified the wine. After blending we allowed the wine to sit for a short resting period prior to bottling. The flavors of herbs, hazelnuts, rich dark coffee and figs comes forward on the nose and palate to display a full body and rich fruit syrup finish. This wine will only get better with age, suitable for 10+ years in the cellar.ON THE NOSE Dark coffee and hazelnut with raspberry jamON THE PALATE Rich layers of sweet red fruit, chocolate and nuts with a lingering finish of fig and plumFOOD COMPLEMENTS Any chocolate dessert, hard cheeses or ripe soft cheese.” – Becker Vineyards
