Description
Acrobat is wine born to introduce even more people to the style and grace of Pinot Noir. Grown responsibly in the gorgeous hills and valleys of Oregon, this wine works wonderfully with food of all kinds and is equally rich and enjoyable on its own.The Wine Acrobat Pinot Noir was crafted to capture the hearts of new and old wine lovers alike with its simplicity and versatility. Vibrant garnet in appearance, the 2013 vintage shows aromas of strawberry and red cherry before the bright red fruit shines on the front palate. Then, the Oregon earth, acid and balanced tannins playfully round out the mid-palate. The finish blends the fruit and earth together for a lush and generously lingering experience. Enjoy now through 2016.The Process Grapes were destemmed before being cold soaked, during which multiple daily punch downs and pump overs were done to extract skin color. After fermentation, the unfinished wine was transferred to barrel where it underwent Malolactic fermentation to impart a softer, rounder mouthfeel and increase complexity. This was followed by 6 months of aging prior to bottling.Vintage Notes The 2013 growing season began with a warm spring, which allowed early growth to progress nicely. Budbreak and bloom occurred ahead of the area average and the pleasant spring progressed into a sunny and mild summer. Near ideal conditions for most of the summer allowed vine growth and grape development to progress rapidly. Brief rainfall in August and September dissipated quickly and the warm summer weather returned through the rest of the season. This gave the grapes time to ripen nicely on the vine until harvest commenced in early October.Fermentation Destemmed, cold soaked, punch downs, pump overs, Malolactic fermentation Aging Aged in French oak for 6 months Nose Red cherry, strawberry, violet, vanilla, damp leather, rhubarb pie Flavors Cherry cola, cranberry, earth leather, strawberry, vanilla, plum – King Estate
