Still red from Lombardy, Valtellina Superiore DOCG, 13.5% ABV, 100% Nebbiolo. Produced by Ar.Pe.Pe, a family of winemakers since 1860. 0.75 L bottle, 2022 vintage. A mountain Nebbiolo born from heroic viticulture, where everything is done by hand. After harvesting, the grapes macerate for 12 days in chestnut vats before being transferred to oak barrels for at least two years. The garnet red color with orange highlights immediately suggests this is a great mountain Nebbiolo, opening with notes of cherry, plum in alcohol, nutmeg, and cloves, with a richly spicy finish.
