Supporting the 4 Rs for the environment: reduce, recover, recycle and reuse; Argiano practices organic and regenerative agriculture, leading to a balance of biodiversity through organic soil fertilization practices.
In Sant’Angelo in Colle, at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level, 125 hectares of vineyards extend. The geographical area is characterized by a mild climate that contributes to the conservation of the vineyards in excellent health. Slow ripening is essential for the grapes to acquire the intense and particular aromatic aspects typical of this wine. The winemaking process is meticulously monitored and begins with spontaneous fermentation in steel containers at a controlled temperature for approximately 15 days. Argiano selects the grapes from its most cultivated vineyards. noble and ages the wine in two different types of wood. The first year is spent in French oak barriques and tonneaux of different types to enhance the wine’s innate structure, while the second is spent in larger Slavonian oak barrels that allow it to achieve balance and where it remains for about 30 months. After completing the maturation process in wood, the wine is transferred to concrete tanks to rest and reach complete maturation until the moment of bottling. Argiano’s Brunello di Montalcino embodies the tradition of a territory and one of Italy’s most beloved wines.
