Blandy’s Madeira remainstotally dedicated to the traditions, care, and craftsmanship of Madeira Winefor over 200 years.THE WINEMAKINGBlandy’s 2010 Verdelho Colheita was aged in seasoned American oak casksin the traditional ‘Canteiro’ system, whereby the wine is gently heated bywarm air in the lofts of the company’s south-facing lodge in Funchal. Overthe years the casks are transferred om the top floor to the middle floorand eventually to the ground floor where it is cooler. The wine is regularlyracked during the ageing process and is finally bottled when thedesired balance of maturity is reached.TASTING NOTETopaz with golden nuances, crystal clear. An intense bouquet of apple jelly,yellow uit chutney, aged brandy with hints of spice. The palate is mediumdry and esh with saline notes, leaving a long and warm finish of candieduit and brandy. VERDELHO COLHEITAWINEMAKERFrancisco AlbuquerqueGRAPE VARIETALThe Verdelho grape, some say, wasthe most represented grape inMadeira during the 17th centuryand that it originates om theisland. The musts have moderatesweetness and acidity which resultin medium-dry wines.BOTTLEDSTORAGE & SERVINGThis wine should be stored uprightin a dark room with constanttemperature, ideally no higher than61ºF. As the wine is completelystabilized, it is recommended to pullthe cork at least 2 day beforeenjoying this wine.
