About Bogle
Our family sources grapes from some of the best vineyards across the state. These grapes complement those from our estate vineyards in Clarksburg, Lodi and the Sierra Foothills. Sustainability begins in the vineyards. From knowledge passed down from previous generations to implementing new ideas, Bogle Family Vineyards is following some of the most stringent eco-friendly farming practices for wine grapes in the world.
California Wines
California wine production has a rich viticulture history since 1680 when Spanish Jesuit missionaries planted Vitis vinifera vines native to the Mediterranean region in their established missions to produce wine for religious services. In the 1770s, Spanish missionaries continued the practice under the direction of the Father Junípero Serra planted California’s first vineyard at Mission San Juan Capistrano.
The state produces about ninety percent of the American wine supply and is the fourth largest wine producer among the world’s independent nations. It has more than 1,200 wineries ranging from home-grown and small boutiques to large corporations with international distribution.
Green apple and pear aromas classically characterize this wine as Clarksburg, while honeycomb and vanilla heighten the first impression. The rich, round entry rolls into a viscous and silky mouthfeel, surrounded by Asian pears and Honeycrisp apples. The finish lingers long and soft, like the wafting aromas of grandma’s warm apple pie. This versatile wine pairs well with grilled fish, roasted chicken, fresh green salads, and soft, mild cheeses.
