Description
Still red, iconic Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG, 15% ABV, produced by Bolla, a historic Veronese winery founded in 1883. A wine that embodies the tradition and excellence of Valpolicella, made from a blend of Corvina, Corvinone, Oseleta, and Rondinella. The grapes are dried for months, concentrating their sugars and aromas, before being slowly fermented. The nose unfurls intense aromas of small black fruits preserved in alcohol, menthol notes, chocolate, cinchona, rhubarb, myrtle, and star anise. Ruby in color with an orange edge. The palate is opulent, soft and velvety, with dense, smooth tannins and a precise, fresh, savory finish that balances the alcoholic note. The finish is very persistent and clean. A perfect pairing with grilled red meats, braised meats, and aged cheeses.
