Description
Walter Bressia, owner and winemaker of Bodegas Bressia, has been in the Argentine wine trade since the early 1980’s. Before founding his family winery in 2003, he was the winemaker at Bodega Vistalba and Viniterra. Walter and his wife Marita, along with daughters Marita & Antonella and sons Walter Jr. & Alvaro, produce some of Argentina’s finest wines.
Walter is one of the most respected winemakers in Argentina, and his concept involves the notion of “Vinos de Autor” (Author’s wines) or personalized high-quality wines. Bressia has 320 oak barrels, almost all new French and American oak (60% French, 40% American).
Conjuro is a blend of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from Gualtallary vineyards, located in the Tupungato area at 3,600 feet above sea level.
Its elegant, expressive aromas prepare us for a full-bodied, broad and elegant wine, with a long, unctuous finish, that leaves us with a seductive, pleasurable sensation.
“The 2016 Bressia Conjuro is half Malbec with 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot from the Uco Valley and was aged for 18 months in new French barrels. The cool year sets the tone in the nose with austere aromas of fresh plum, herbs and spices. The aging process’ contribution takes the form of sweet spices. The freshness combines with a voluminous flow in the mouth that delivers generous but measured helpings of flavor along with the pleasantly grippy tannins. The finish is built around an unusual degree of freshness that lends extra tension and depth. – Joaquín Hidalgo”

“Conjuro is one of the top reds from the Bressias, all sourced from Gualtallary and made with Malbec, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot. Firm, aromatic and showing lovely top notes of wild thyme and lavender, this is a structured, serious, richly oaked cuvée that still needs more time in bottle.”
