Description
Extra Brut Classic Method sparkling wine, produced in Lombardy by Ca dei Frati. Fragrant with notes of biscuit and hazelnut, hay, and aged tobacco. Golden yellow with green highlights. The silky, creamy carbonation gives way to the acidity that stimulates salivation, bringing back the biscuit and hazelnut notes. The Ca’ dei Frati winery has been known since 1782, as attested by a document that refers to “a house with a cellar located in Lugana in the Sirmione area, known as the place of the Friars.” It was 1939 when Felice Dal Cero, son of Domenico, already a winemaker in Montecchia di Crosara, moved to that very house in Lugana di Sirmione in the Verona area, immediately sensing the area’s excellent winemaking potential. Aged for a minimum of 24 months on the lees, followed by 4 months in the bottle after disgorgement. Fine, continuous perlage.
