The 2021 Merlot includes 7% Cabernet Sauvignon and was raised for 20 months in 40% new French oak. A saturated red/black color, it offers expressive notes of sweet tobacco, blackberry, mocha, and espresso. Full-bodied, it is hearty and long, with a bright spine of acidity to keep it fresh, and it has ripe, velvety tannins, a rich, coating texture, and a lasting finish. It’s going to improve with another year in the cellar and should drink well 2025-2040.
