Description
François Bouchet of Chateau Falfas became the first biodynamically-certified grower in France. His daughter Veronique now heads up the estate and makes some of the most interesting, least stodgy, and cleanest Right Bank bottlings around – on a farmstead scale that you typically find in off-the-beaten-path regions, not fancy Bordeaux. We’re loving her ‘Demoiselles de Falfas’ entry-level wine, a bright, next-gen Bordeaux blend that skips the oak aging and allows pure, plush, Merlot-dominated fruit to shine. This vintage is a little deeper and richer than the 2017 we featured, with some grippy tannins. If you’re popping a bottle for your Tuesday night roast chicken, this one makes an excellent food wine — and will definitely elevate your wine-with-dinner game. It’s drinking perfectly now, and pairs beautifully with everything from tacos and nachos to grilled meat and veg.
