Description
Chateau Lestignac is a family domaine first started in 1617 then reborn in 2009 when Mathias Marquet and his wife Camile made their own wines rather than selling grapes to negotiants as the previous few generations had.
This young couple are inspired by nature and the environment, farming their 30 acres of vines organically and biodynamically with an aim to improving life in the soil and the region. Work in the cellar is equally natural: only indigenous yeasts for fermentation and no additives at all other than a minimal use of sulfur as needed.
On the nose, cherry cola, wintermelon, purple fruits and cannabis. On the palate, overripe blackberry, fernet and mint leaf. Texturally round but finishes crunchy, green and peppery.
Serve chilled as an aperitif or as a light accompaniment to a richer meal.
