Description
Tasting notes
Deep ruby red with garnet reflections. The scents are those of black and red fruits, which combine with spicy tertiaries, licorice, vanilla and coffee. The flavor is harmonious and soft. It is a full-bodied wine, with a persistent finish and with tannins well inserted into the texture.
Combinations
It goes well with game dishes, game terrines, grilled meats and aged cheeses. Good with green pepper lentrecôte.
The origins of the winery
The Conti Zecca winery encompasses five centuries of history, during which it has established itself as one of the most important wineries in Salento.
Every year the Nero of the Conti Zecca winery reaches the finals in the judgments of the most renowned wine guides, obtaining scores that, if they do not exceed 90 cents, are punctually very close. This year is no exception. It is a wine that follows a long aging: it ages 18 months in French wooden barriques, one year in large oak barrels and six months in the bottle. Finally, compared to its quality, the price of Salento Rosso IGT Nero 2012 dei Conti Zecca is really affordable. Not to be missed.
