Description
”In The Vineyard The 2012 vintage of this Chardonnay was crafted from a blend of grapes from premium vineyards in the heart of the Russian River Valley. 2012 was a year with a mild spring followed by an even warm summer and fall. The naturally cool foggy mornings tempered the luxuriously warm afternoons to achieve very full clusters and fruit maturity without loss of depth or suppleness. Carefully tended vines yield fruit of exemplary quality a pure expression of the valley’s terroir.Conversations With The Winemaker The wine was fermented in 50% French oak barrels, with the balance in stainless steel tanks. The wine went through some Malolactic fermentation, resulting in a well-balanced wine with bright acidity and a rich, round mouthfeel.Tasting Notes Beautiful pale straw yellow in color, the nose of this Chardonnay immediately entices you with its rich aromas of key lime, white peach, and baked apple pie. Upon the first sip, you will be surprised by the flinty brightness that balances the apple creaminess. The hint of soft oak helps carry this lovely wine with a long, lingering finish.” – De Loach
