“Rich with surprisingly soft tannin, this dense plum/ruby/purple-colored 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits lots of briary mountain fruit, blackberries, blueberries and cassis, outstanding purity, full-bodied power and nicely integrated tannin. There is no evidence of toasty oak to be found in this beauty from Randy Dunn. (RP)” (06/2013)

“Dunn’s 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is a dense, super-concentrated wine. I imagine the magnum format amplifies those qualities. Dark-toned fruit, iron, incense, licorice and chocolate build in a brooding, explosive Cabernet Sauvignon. From the big bottle, the 2003 comes across as quite young! (AG)” (12/2024)

“Aromas of dark cassis and blackberry meld with burning embers, graphite, meaty umami and anise hints in a complex bouquet, introducing an intense, full-bodied and ripely savoury wine. With a decant this is already approachable – by the standards of this notoriously reticent cuvée. (WK)” (06/2016)

“Fabulous aromas of blackberries, blueberries, and black licorice. Full body, firm and juicy with lots of savory, salty character. A smoky, spicy and delicious wine. Just drinking well now. Wonderful red.” (06/2016)
