Description
The Franciacorta Nature from the Enrico Gatti winery is the product of an essential bond between the territory, Franciacorta, and the “winemaker,” a term the Gatti family uses to identify themselves. This relationship is also consolidated in the care of the vines, low environmental impact agriculture, and the disuse of pesticides and herbicides, accompanied by the constant analysis of the soil, which is fertilized only organically. The choice of sustainable viticulture, however, does not come at the expense of quality; the meticulous study of the vineyards and microclimates allows the production of quality wines every year, not always similar to previous vintages. A curiosity: on the labels of all Franciacorta DOCG wines, it is not necessary to write the harvest year for non-vintage wines, as this is prohibited by the production regulations.
The Nature version of Enrico Gatti Franciacorta DOCG is made with 85% Chardonnay grapes and the remaining part of Pinot Noir grown in the foothills, harvested by hand in crates and brought to the cellar, completed in 2005 and equipped with the most modern winemaking techniques and completely temperature-controlled. After gentle pressing and enzyme clarification of the must, fermentation takes place in steel tanks. The secondary fermentation, as per the Franciacorta DOCG production regulations, takes place in the bottle. The wine ages on the lees for 24 months before being released. With a great harmony of aromas and an engaging flavor, it presents itself as dry as possible, as nothing is added during disgorgement.
