“This lengthens out nicely, with vibrant dried cherry and savory herbal flavors, supported by fresh acidity and medium-grained tannins. Crunchy minerality emerges on the precise finish, revealing hints of smoked paprika. Drink now through 2023. (KM)”(8/2019)

Also a classic expression of the appellation, the 2019 Pinot Noir Lola has ample raspberry and wild strawberry fruits to go with notes of salty sea breeze, shrimp broth, wildflowers, and assorted spice-like aromas and flavors. Beautifully textured and medium to full-bodied, with ripe, polished tannins, it’s going to evolve for a solid decade.
Winemaker Ehren Jordan produces his wines in true artisanal fashion, with no fining or filtration. The 2017 “Lola” Pinot Noir saw 30% whole-cluster fermentation and 11 months in oak (15% new). From the winery: “LOLA is sourced from two cool climate vineyard sites in emerging growing regions for Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. The first is situated in the eastern portion of the Petaluma Gap in the heart of the windy corridor and the second is a well-known site in Fort Ross Seaview… Notes of tart raspberry, white strawberry, and dried wildflowers emanate from the glass followed by a palate of cool brambly fruits and sassafras with a pleasantly clean and salty finish.”
