Description
Barolo DOCG 2021 by Giovanni Rosso, a still red from Piedmont, 14% ABV, 100% Nebbiolo. Produced in Serralunga d’Alba, with grapes harvested in mid-October. Fermentation lasts approximately 29 days in cement tanks without selected yeasts, with daily pumping over, delestages, and piages. Aged for 36 months in 25-hl French oak barrels from the Fontainebleau Forest. The nose is initially listless, then becomes concrete and significant: violet, dried rose, and cherry. A deep, dark, and concentrated garnet color. On the palate, it displays the richness of Serralunga, with a solid body, invigorating tannins, and a silky, precise finish. Ideal with pigeon in Barolo, game, cheeses, and pork. James Suckling gives it 95/100, Vinous 94/100.
