Winemakers Notes
Illahe Pinot Gris 2024 2024 was a vintage winemakers and viticulturists dream about. Perfect weather from spring bud break to a perfect fall with no rain events. Crop yield was on the lower end, which made our clusters produce beautiful berries. We have rarely seen a vintage where every single block that was pressed was really complex and interesting. 2024 is a vintage to remember in the Willamette Valley 2024
Vintage Notes: Winemaking notes: We whole cluster press this pinot gris right after picking and ferment 20% in a foudré and neutral french oak barrels and 80% in stainless steel. The wine rests on the lees throughout fermentation. This, along with the large oak cask, gives the wine more texture and is a nod to a more Alsatian style.
Tasting Notes: A nose of baked pear, graham cracker pie crust, fresh lemon zest, and chamomile. The palate transitions to flinty minerality and lively acidity and salinity from our marine soils.
