The Joseph Mellot winery was founded in Sancerre over fi ve centuries ago. In 1698, Cesar Mellot was tasked with advising King Louis XIV in regal wine selection! To this day, the estate has remained family owned. With exceptional growth, Joseph Mellot is the only estate to have vineyards planted in all of the Centre-Loire appellations. The Sincerites label of Vin de Pays du Val de Loire indicates that the grapes are harvested from any of the four main sub-regions of the Loire Valley Central Vineyards, Touraine, Anjou Saumur and Pay Nantais. Each sub-region is known for its dominant varietals and successful expressions of terroir. As with all Joseph Mellot wines, Sincerites Sauvignon Blanc is grown with Environmentally Conscious Viticulture and organic farming practices within the Central Vineyards. The most eastern sub-region of the Loire Valley is most notable for Pouilly-Fume and Sancerre. Sauvignon Blanc from this area produces mineral-driven wine with racy acidity.
