In the old French, biaus regart means “beautiful view”, and with time the expression became “Beauregard” and stays today as the name of this climate. We must admit that the name is well deserved ! From the top of the parcel you can see the whole Côte de Beaune and the Maranges plains with the Mont des Trois Croix behind you. In Volnay there is a climate with the same name, also on top of the coteau. At the north-east of the village near the windmill, the parcel is in the continuity of Chassagne-Montrachet. On the high part of the hill, the soil is quite thin with perfect hydric conditions which gives great wines, very elegant and fine in the aromatic structure. The southeast exposure and the continuous stir of the wind avoids excessive humidity and so diseases.
