This wine is not made from oranges. Orange wine comes from skin-fermented white grapes, so the juice extracts color, flavor and texture from white skins, giving it its orange hue. Wayward Son is a skin-fermented blend of Marsanne and Roussanne from Mendocino County. The wine has the flavor profile of white wine with the texture of red winemaking it extremely food-friendly and fun to share It has a floral nose with hints of vermouth and aperitive This is followed by a phenolic attack which is pulled to the finish by weight and acid on the mid-palate.
