Description
Fresh asphalt, blackberry, and tuberose aromas. The palate has flavors of cassis, umeboshi, and violet pastille.
This wine pairs well with shepherds pie, bistro burger, and carne asada tacos.

Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
The 2017 Carignan Sativa comes from own-rooted, head-trained vines planted in 1975. It was made with 100% whole cluster and has a pale to medium ruby-purple color, with a gregarious nose of candied red cherry and blueberry, sage, laurel, violet perfume, pepper and meaty hints. The palate is light to medium-bodied with bright red and blue berries, chalky tannins and great freshness, finishing long. Rating: 90+
