Description
A still white wine from Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Rosazzo DOCG, 13.5% ABV, produced by Livio Felluga. Blend: 20% Friulano/Sauvignon Vert, 20% Malvasia, 20% Pinot Bianco, 20% Ribolla Gialla, 20% Sauvignon, 2021 vintage. An Abbazia di Rosazzo that celebrates the elegance and complexity of Friuli wines, the fruit of a family tradition passed down for six generations. The grapes are harvested by hand in three steps. The grapes, delicately destemmed, after appropriate cold maceration, were subjected to a soft pressing. The must was clarified by simple decantation and then fermented in stainless steel tanks with the inoculation of yeasts selected in Friuli. After three days, the wine was racked into oak barrels where it completed alcoholic and then malolactic fermentation. The wine matured in oak barrels, where the yeasts lysed. The tertiary aromas will develop fully over the coming years. Penetrating, intense, and multifaceted. A highly elegant floral and fruity impact: lantana, jasmine, wisteria, acacia blossoms, orange blossom, and hawthorn combine with apricot, peach, melon, and grapefruit. The refined, creamy notes of vanilla, custard, sweet almond, and hazelnut are enhanced by balsamic sensations of thyme, nettle, mint leaves, and mallow. A bright yellow with good depth. Complex and elegant. A soft attack with a lively acidic edge. A rich palate echoes the aromas: Granny Smith apple, yellow peach, papaya, white flowers, and hints of citrus and balsamic. The tannic structure supports the minerality well. A full finish and great persistence.
