Description
Organic Barolo DOCG, 14.5% ABV, produced by Casa E. di Mirafiore, a historic winery founded in 1878. 0.75 L bottle, 2019 vintage. A Barolo made in the Lazzarito cru, one of the most important in Serralunga d’Alba, where the calcareous marl gives the Nebbiolo an imposing structure and unparalleled elegance. The destemmed and crushed grapes are heated to around 32-33°C and pumped over simultaneously. During the first few days, the number and frequency of pumping over is very high to optimize the extraction of tannins and color. Aged for two years in medium and large oak barrels (from 2,000 to 14,000 liters). The bouquet is rich, with distinct hints of ripe plum, tobacco, dried mushrooms, mint, rosemary, and cinnamon. Ruby red color with garnet highlights. On the palate, it presents a very dense and dense texture of tannins that give the wine a sensation of compactness, but also of softness and harmony. A perfect wine to accompany red meats, game, and aged cheeses.
