Description
Our Robert Mondavi Private Selection Bourbon Barrel Aged Chardonnay – the first-of-its-kind Chardonnay aged in bourbon barrels – reflects the expressive character of this truly original approach to aging. We craft this wine from cool, coastal fruit in Monterey County, before aging it in a combination of new oak and used bourbon barrels. The new barrels give the wine its rich, toasty flavor. The used barrels – selected from a renowned Kentucky distillery – offer notes of vanilla and baking spices from the fine bourbon that once filled these casks. This white wine pairs well with grilled halibut, shrimp scampi and bacon-wrapped dates.
