Champagne is a unique region, a unique wine, the oldest AOC in France and is only produced in the specific area delimited by law on 22 July 1927. Out of the 34,000 hectares making up our vineyards in Champagne, we have contracts on almost 2,000 hectares and we wholly own and cultivate 255 hectares using sustainable wine growing methods.
Sustainable wine growing is a collective approach operated in Champagne since 2001. It was introduced following a standard written by the ‘Sustainable wine growing in Champagne’ inter-professional group and vineyard self-diagnostic. Major environmental protection efforts were undertaken, in several areas, such as soil work, vine management, waste management, vine protection products, etc.
Created as a tribute to Louise Pommery, Cuvée Louise is an absolutely pure wine which quintessentially conveys the wine-making expertise of the Pommery champagne house. Avize, Cramant et Aÿ. Cuvée Louise originates in the vineyards of Avize, Cramant and Ay, three “Grands Crus” areas that are jewels in the crown of the Champagne region.
The wine has a yellow, slightly golden colour with an exceptional brightness and limpidity. The effervescence is fi ne and delicate.Finesse and elegance are the fi rst words which come to your mind on the fi rst nose. The universe of 2005 is marked by floral notes in all their complexity. The Chardonnay is expressed here in all its nuances owing the long aging in our cellars (linden, hawthorn, vineyard peach). With its high purity, this bouquet is delicately blended with buttery notes. After aeration, the Pinot Noir expresses itself, too, and the wine gains in complexity with the tertiary aromas of roasted hazelnuts and mild tobacco associated with vanilla, almost balsamic notesThis wine is like a caress, its texture is velvety and creamy. The attack is frank, without asperity and imbalance. Its incredible harmony and its minerality invite you to a unique experience during which the aromas perceived on the nose are back and enter into a synergy. The heart of the tasting is intensive and structured. The finale, with the gentleness of honey and lemon, comes to punctuate this wine and provides the vintage with its signature through a delicate fl avour, a noble bitterness, which gives this cuvée its fi nal structure.
