Description
Aroma
Very concentrated, with balsamic oak notes, fig, blackberry and tobacco aromas.
Taste
Full bodied, firm, mature and silky tannins. Mineral notes and a very elegant, persistent and complex finish.
Vinification
Part of the grapes are foot-trodden in traditional granite “lagares”. The remaining grapes ferment in 5-ton stainless steel vats, with controlled temperature and periodical remontage.
Varieties
Old vines, between 60 and 100 years old: more than 35 mix-planted grape varieties with a predominance of Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Touriga Franca and Tinta Barroca.
Ageing
After malolactic fermentation the wine is racked into 225 litre French Oak barrels where they remain for 18 months.
