Filler up and Enjoy! – John Allbaugh, WinemakerVineyards Our Syrah, Petite Sirah, and Petite Verdot are grown at the base of the foothills of California where the hot summer days are cooled by the Sacramento Delta breezes. This allows for growing conditions where the vines can impart rich flavorful characteristics to each grape. Our Merlot is sourced from select vineyards throughout California to complement the blend.Vintage The 2014 growing season was a late-starting one, with fairly undesirable conditions in the beginning, but fortunately is showing some real novelties. It can best be described as a challenging year for all aspects of the industry. The California winegrape harvest was lighter and later than normal with flavors developing at lower sugar levels, giving winemakers the opportunity to make flavorful, elegant wines.Fermentation & Aging The grapes were picked and then gently crushed and pumped to the stainless steel fermentation tank. The free run juice was drained into a settling tank and the wines were pumped over daily to improve flavor. The flavorful press wine was re-combined with the free run juice and allowed to settle for about two weeks. The wine was racked in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. – Red Truck Wines
