Description
Still red Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Riserva Ducale Oro, 15% vol, produced by Ruffino. Blend: 80% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Colorino. 0.75 l bottle, 2021 vintage. A Chianti Classico of great value, embodying Ruffino’s history and passion for Tuscany. The grapes come from the finest vineyards on the Gretole and Santedame estates, located in the heart of Castellina in Chianti. Fermentation and maceration take place in temperature-controlled steel vats for approximately 20 days to gently extract the grapes’ full potential. Aging lasts 30 months, 12 of which in large Slavonian barrels for the Sangiovese and barriques and tonneaux for the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The blended wine then ages in cement vats and at least 3 months in bottle. On the nose, intense notes of cherry, plum, and violet emerge, opening a much more complex bouquet with hints of eucalyptus, coffee beans, and black pepper. Ruby red in color with garnet highlights. A well-structured wine with elegant, velvety tannins supported by good acidity.
