Description
Not a few people consider Rosso Piceno Superiore to be one of the most interesting d.o.c. wines of Central Italy. Rosso Piceno is produced in a fairly large area of the hilly Marche region, but it is only in a restricted area within the province of Ascoli Piceno that this wine, made from Sangiovese and Montepulciano grapes, can boast the “Superiore” designation. This is due to the special microclimatic and soil conditions of the area in question, which stretches across fourteen Piceno municipalities. Convinced of the considerable potential of this wine, which many foreign consumers have also shown their appreciation for, we have tried to make the most of it, respecting its tradition and, at the same time, interpreting it in a modern way. The result seems convincing to us: Rosso Piceno Superiore Brecciarolo is an important wine, full-bodied and able to last at its best for several years, but it is also endowed with softness and good drinkability, thanks to its ageing in oak barrels. The ideal temperature for drinking it is around 18°C; the aromas are complex and varied, the taste broad and harmonious, to the point of being enveloping with age.
