” This fresh red wine has a dark, deep and intense ruby color, with a nose dominated by red fruit jams that carry through to the mouth. It is well-balanced with silky tannins.Winemakers Notes The grapes from Vila Nova Douro Red wine are from the oldest wine region in the world. Harvest is conducted 100% by hand from vines that are 20-to- 30 years old, with the best grapes of each of the above varietals chosen for fermentation at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks. Fifty percent of the finished wine is then aged for six months in used 400 litre French oak barrels.Serving Hints This wine should ideally be decanted and then served at room temperature with light meat dishes, such as pork, or flavorful, hard Italian cow cheeses or sheeps milk cheeses.” – Vila Nova
