Description
A wine with aromas of raspberries and cherries that provide freshness, along with underlying notes of tobacco, plum and cassis. After aging for 18 months in French oak barrels, the wine acquires spicy notes of cloves, licorice, red peppers and vanilla. On the palate it is tasty and balanced, with marked notes of cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant, which are typical of a wine which originates in sandy soil. The tannins are round and present due to the gravel and angular stones of the soil. The mineral soils of volcanic origin impart a long finish.

This is a full-bodied and flavorful red that opens with peppercorn, aniseed and thyme. Oak flavors are well-integrated on the dense palate. Notes of berries, spices, thyme and coffee are supported by firm tannins and enough acidity to freshen the smooth finish. Baking spices in the aftertaste make this wine a great match for your favorite dark chocolate. — Jesica Vargas

Notes of blackberries, dark cherries, blueberries and mint chocolate. It’s full-bodied with tight, firm tannins. Structured, firm and tannic with lots of potential. Try after 2023. –June 2021

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Gran Reserva Etiqueta Negra from Isla de Maipo spent 14 months in French barrels and foudres, 20% of them new. Maroon red in color, it offers a nose of black currant and mint plus hints of camphor and a vivacious touch of bay leaf. Complex and juicy with fine-grained tannins, this is a classic Maipo Cab. — June 2021

Following the line of the 2017, the 2019 Gran Reserva Etiqueta Negra Cabernet Sauvignon keeps good freshness and poise in this warm and dry year. The oak is quite integrated, and the fruit is ripe without excess. There are some spicy and cigar ash notes along with abundant fine-grained tannins typical of the variety. — Agust 2021
