Description
Warre’s, founded in 1670, was the first British Port company established in Portugal and therefore the pioneer of a great tradition; its history is synonymous with that of Port itself. Warres Ports are distinguished for their structure, elegance and softly perfumed nose. They have a particularly fresh and elegant style. Warres premium wines are sourced from Quinta da Cavadinha, Quinta do Retiro and Quinta da Telhada, three of the finest estates of the Douro Valley. Warres Vintage Ports are renowned the world over for their excellence and are consistently placed amongst the best in comparative tastings.THE WINE Warres Fine White is produced from traditional white grape varieties from the Douro Demarcated Region. The fermentation takes place off the skins in order to produce a more delicate style of wine. A brief ageing process takes place at our lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia in a combination of oak casks and stainless steel tanks. It is refreshingly light in taste and an excellent aperitif.TASTING NOTE Warres Fine White is medium dry. It has pale straw colour with crisp flowery aromas, fresh almonds on the palate and a long tangy finish.STORAGE & SERVING Serve chilled to enhance the crisp fruit flavours. Equally delicious served as an aperitif or with light desserts. It can also be enjoyed served long over ice and lemon with Indian tonic water. – Warre’s
