Description
Winemaker Notes
Milmanda is a crisp, refreshing white wine with lively aromatic expression and a medium body. Notes of oak and orchard fruit dominate the palate supported by layers of ripe pineapple, bright citrus and a smoky finish. This is a Chardonnay to enjoy with roast pork or barbecued seafood.

Wow. A glorious chardonnay that I have been admiring for decades. It’s full-bodied with layers of ripe apple, hints of white peach and nougat and vanilla undertones. Creamy. It’s full-bodied and gorgeous all the way through.

From a vineyard nestled next to walls of the medieval Milmanda Castle; Chardonnay sits on deep clay soils that lend a lovely freshness to this wine. Decreasing oak use sees the 2017 vintage was aged for 4-6 months in barrel, then 10 months in stainless steel, with lees stirring to create texture. Creaminess to the mid-palate, balanced by fresh acidity that persists through the finish. Herbal notes, alongside crisp yellow citrus and pineapple. Expressive nose with tropical pineapple and banana, coconut and a buttery, brioche-pastry note.

Slightly prickly aromas of apple, passion fruit and oak introduce a full palate. Briny apple flavors include a pop of scallion and green herbs, while this single-vineyard Chardonnay is steady on a finish held together by acidity.
