Description
Folonari Brunello di Montalcino is produced with grapes from Tuscany, specifically from the Siena area of Montalcino, located northwest of Mount Amiata, at the end of the Val d’Orcia. These vines are made from 100% Sangiovese grapes, guaranteeing the wine the DOCG Brunello di Montalcino designation. For optimal production of this wine, the grapes are harvested in October, when the fruit is fully ripe. For the following fifteen days, the grapes are left to macerate on the skins to allow fermentation, while the subsequent vinification phase takes place in the Tenuta La Fuga cellar, where alcoholic fermentation continues in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature of 28 degrees Celsius. The
winery is located in a strategic and ideal position: at an altitude of 400 meters above sea level, it overlooks a breathtaking panorama. With an overall very mild temperature, the gentle sea breeze can be felt from afar. The final, lengthy phase, maturation and aging, lasts four years, of which the wine spends at least 36 months in 30-40 hl Slavonian oak barrels. Once bottled, it is finally refined for a minimum of 12 months. The Folonari family has been producing wine since the 18th century, as evidenced by the tradition and expertise they infuse into Brunello di Montalcino, as well as the sensational craftsmanship that makes this wine famous throughout the world. The idyllic setting of Tuscany is the perfect cradle for an unparalleled product.
