The 2023 Matsu El Recio is a deep ruby-colored wine that opens with aromas of dried spices and subtle hints of licorice. On the palate, it shows firm structure, delivering bold black-fruit flavors layered with well-framed oak. This richness and grip make it an inspired partner for slow-smoked BBQ baby back ribs, especially when glazed with a slightly sweet, peppery sauce that caramelizes over the heat.
